The Golf
Jack’s Point
Jack’s Point Golf course, located 6km south of Queenstown is one of the most visually spectacular courses in the world. Rising above the golf course are the 2300 vertical metre mountains of the Remarkables, that provide an incredible backdrop. The holes weave their way through native tussock grasslands, steep bluffs and collections of native bush to the edge of the glistening Lake Wakatipu. The course itself measures 6388 metres from the back tees and offers golfers the flexibility to choose from five different tee positions.
It is an open and classic links style course that provides golfers with a challenging but rewarding experience. From the perfectly manicured fairways and greens to the phenomenal views, there is no wonder why Jack’s Point is considered one of the best in the world.
Millbrook
Home of the current New Zealand Open, Millbrook comprises two 18-hole championship course that both deliver class in spades. The ‘Remarkables’ course was originally designed by Bob Charles and John Darby in 1992. After several re-iterations, the course is now renowned for its elevated tee shots that showcase the spectacular Remarkables mountain ranges.
The ‘Coronet’ course, named aptly after the surrounding Coronet Peak, was originally designed as a nine-hole layout by Greg Turner in 2009. Recently, however, it has been re-designed and lengthened and opened to the public in 2022 as an 18-hole masterpiece. Whilst playing this course, it is impossible to ignore the enormity of the towering Remarkables mountain ranges and the tranquillity of the meandering Mill stream.
Queenstown Golf Club
Queenstown Golf Club is located on the triangular peninsula of Lake Wakatipu, known as Kelvin Heights Peninsula. Along with the backdrop of the towering mountain ranges, Queenstown Golf Club is widely regarded as one of the most picturesque courses on the planet. Measured at a modest 6103m off the back tees, the course utilises the natural surroundings as its defence. When the wind picks up, each hole can play completely differently. The signature hole is the 5th, where the water of Lake Wakatipu comes in to play. Any shot left from the tee will disappear into the lake. Be sure to take a photo from the 5th green looking back towards the tee!
Queenstown Golf Club currently hosts an event on the Australian PGA Legends Tour, the Club Car Queenstown Legends Pro-Am.
The Welcome Party
On Sunday we host our welcome party at Boardwalk restaurant. Boardwalk restaurant is a modern establishment located in one of Queenstown’s most iconic waterfront sites, Steamer Wharf. This welcome party is the perfect time to not only take in the incredible surroundings but also be introduced to your fellow golfers and tour coordinators. The views are utterly phenomenal. Marvel the snow-capped peaks in winter or watch the sun gleam and glitter on the surface of the lake. Enjoy complimentary drinks and canapes with a contemporary blend of fresh seafood, meats and seasonal local produce catering to all dietary needs.
