The Course

Taking the award for the Murray’s best golf course is in the incredible Black Bull Golf Course. A short drive from the heart of Yarrawonga, the course enjoys views of Lake Mulwala and features undulating Couch fairways and slick Bent grass greens. The Murray River region has some of the most suitable year-round conditions for golf and turf management in the country, and Black Bull’s Grand Prix Couch fairways, in particular, are among the best in the area.

One of the most unique and difficult features of Black Bull is a tough three-hole sequence, starting at the par three 15th. According to an article published in the Border Mail: “The highlight is a stretch of three holes to rival Augusta’s Amen Corner.” It’s known as the “Bull Ring” and a more than life-sized statue of Charlie the bull greets golfers at the entrance way to this trio of holes.
