The Golf
The Dunes
The Dunes is Barnbougle’s original course, located on Tasmania’s east coast 80km from Launceston.
The course itself has been carved from the surrounding sand dunes, creating a natural course that meanders along the coastline. It was designed by world renowned architect Tom Doak and Mike Clayton who were tasked with creating a unique Australian destination course that paid homage to the seaside links courses of Scotland.
The course provides a variety of different tee boxes, measuring 5642 metres off the average tees. A stray tee shot can prove costly, with the long marram grass concealing burying golf balls. When the wind picks up of the ocean, the course can play entirely different.
Barnbougle Dunes is truly a memorable golf course created by enthusiasts for enthusiasts. The course is highly regarded, recently rated as the #2 Golf Course in Australia and #11 in the world.
Lost Farm
Located on the other side of the river dividing The Dunes sits Barnbougle’s second incredible course, Lost Farm. It is dramatically different yet exquisitely complementing of its big brother course. This 20-hole course is considered a more manageable course and offers an enjoyable and utterly memorable experience. With incredible ocean views, strategic bunkering and undulating greens it is no surprise that Lost Farm is ranked as the #3 golf course in Australia.
Bougle Run
Bougle Run is a 14-hole short course located behind Lost Farm, atop dramatic sand dunes at Barnbougle. Renowned Golf Architect Bill Coore designed this course, featuring 12 par-3’s and two par-4’s situated on tall, undulating coastal dunes between Lost Farm’s front and back 9. The course offers panoramic views of Lost Farm Course and Anderson’s Bay from some of the highest points in Barnbougle complex. Bougle Run is a fun and challenging addition to Barnbougle’s two world top 100 courses, suitable for golfers of all abilities, and can be played in just under 2 hours to satisfy your golf cravings.
