The Golf
Palmer Sea Reef
Palmer Sea Reef Golf Course is located in Port Douglas, Queensland, and is Far North Queensland’s premier golfing experience. The course designed by Thompson, Wolveridge and Perrett is incredibly unique as it is Australia’s only tropical links style golf course. The 18 hole layout, set between the rolling mountains and the Coral sea, provides both the recreational and professional golfer a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Both mornings, you’ll be provided with breakfast at the golf club prior to your tee time and enjoy a sit down lunch inside the superb Queenslander-style club house.
The Accommodation
Oaks Port Douglas Resort
Set amongst lush tropical surroundings, Oaks Port Douglas Resort is ideally located a few minutes’ walk from the famous Four Mile Beach. Guests can laze by the lagoon-style pool which features its own swim-up bar, relax with a massage in the onsite spa centre, or dine at one of the restaurants. As a 4 star resort, all rooms have been refurbished and feature 42-inch LCD TVs and private balcony or patio overlooking the pool or tropical gardens. Oaks Port Douglas Resort is your gateway to exploring everything sunny Port Douglas has to offer. One of the oldest rainforests in the world, the Daintree Rainforest is a 20-minute drive from the resort, while the Rainforest Habitat Wildlife Sanctuary is just 2.3 km away. You can also explore the iconic Great Barrier Reef nearby.
The Welcome Party
On the first night, we host all golfers at the beautiful Hemingway’s Brewery in the Port Douglas Marina. Hemingway’s Brewery is a local, independent craft brewery operating in Far North Queensland that produces outstanding craft beers. Here you’ll meet your fellow golfers and Golfer Tour staff whilst enjoying the spectacular waterfront views of Port Douglas. A welcome drink and cocktail food will be provided.

Day 1 – Sunday 9th June 2024
- Check into Oaks Port Douglas (after 2 pm)
- Welcome party at Hemingway’s Brewery (Port Douglas Marina)
- Welcome drink and cocktail food provided
- Accommodation at Oaks Port Douglas
Day 2 – Monday 10th June 2024
- Breakfast provided from 7am (Bacon & Egg roll, tea, coffee and juice) at Palmer Sea Reef
- Round 1 at Palmer Sea Reef (2-person ambrose format)
- 8.30 am shotgun start
- Includes shared cart
- 2-Person Ambrose Team event
- Live Mobile Scoring and Leaderboard
- Lunch on completion of the round
- Accommodation at Oaks Port Douglas
Day 3 – Tuesday 11th June 2024
- Breakfast provided from 7am (Bacon & Egg roll, tea, coffee and juice) at Palmer Sea Reef
- Round 2 at Palmer Sea Reef (2-person ambrose format)
- 8.30 am shotgun start
- Includes shared cart
- 2-Person Ambrose Team event
- Live Mobile Scoring and Leaderboard
- Presentation & lunch on completion of the round
- Accommodation at Oaks Port Douglas
Day 4 – Wednesday 12th June 2024
- Checkout by 11am
Other details
- Event is open to players with and without an official AGU Handicap
- Handicapped players will be in Division 1 and Non-Handicapped players in Division 2. Division 1 Players earn points for Golfer Tour Order of Merit
- Prizes will be available for both divisions
