The Links Golf Course Reconfiguration
The final Stage Three will include re-shaping and re-grassing part of the existing 18th fairway, new 4th fairway landing zone, construction of a new 3rd green and surrounds and new 3rd and 4th tee complexes.
Reshaping of the 18th fairway was needed as the hole has been converted from a par 4 to a par 5, moving from 335m to 420m the hole will be similar in shape to that of the famous 18th hole at Bonville golf resort, where a tee shot if played on the correct line will open up the opportunity to go for the green in two with the second shot over a water hazard, however the hole can be navigated quite safely as a 3 shot hole.
The new 3rd green at approximately 390 sq metres is perched just over one of the current dams and at 145m could turn into one of the courses signature holes.
The new 4th tees played to the existing 5th green make great use of the existing wetland topography as the fairway wraps around it, whilst on site Robby together with Darby located a spot for a back tee that will require a daunting line over the natural wetland to reach the fairway, this small tee was added during construction and has been quite the talking point amongst members.
